PSA Engineer – SCADA

Job Title: PSA Engineer – SCADALocation: Bucharest, RomaniaRole Overview:We are seeking a PSA Engineer (SCADA) with hands-on experience in EMS/SCADA systems, Reliance (XA21), and related power system applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in SCADA applications, DMS/TMS, and experience across both Linux and Windows operating environments. The role involves end-to-end responsibilities in implementation, customization, and delivery of Network and Transmission applications for mission-critical systems.Key Responsibilities:Implement and customize Electric Transmission EMS/SCADA systems, with preference for Reliance (XA21) or equivalent SCADA solutions (Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, etc.).Work on Power DMS/TMS and Electric SCADA applications, including system configuration, data modeling, and real-time integration.Design, develop, and deliver Power Systems Applications (PSA) to meet project and customer requirements.Perform installation, patching, and maintenance of OS and third-party software (e.g., Oracle, NetApp).Troubleshoot and debug mission-critical systems and provide timely fixes in live environments.Collaborate with utility clients (Electric Utilities, ISOs, TSOs) to define functional software specifications.Engage in software development, coding, testing, integration, and application tuning.Use GitHub and ClearCase for version control and configuration management.Conduct SQL/PLSQL scripting, shell scripting, and system performance analysis.Participate in test management activities and contribute to automated testing processes.Document technical procedures and system configurations using MS Office tools.Required Skills and Experience:Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in EMS/SCADA system implementation and customization.Experience with Reliance (XA21) or other major SCADA platforms (e.g., Siemens Spectrum, ABB Network Manager, OSI Monarch, Schneider).Strong understanding of Power System Applications such as Load Flow, Contingency Analysis, and other Transmission functions.Expertise with Linux and Windows OS environments.Proficiency in C, Java, Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL.Practical experience with GitHub, ClearCase, and shell scripting.Ability to read and interpret logs, debug files, and resolve complex system issues.Experience with real-time or mission-critical systems.Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.Good communication skills (verbal and written).Competent in MS Office Suite and MS Outlook.Preferred / Nice to Have:Experience in Reliance Grid Apps domain.Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and system administration.Exposure to automated testing tools and test management practices.
