Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionPrimary Purpose Of Job (Job Summary)Responsible for both the lean and digitalization implementation at the existing finished goods site and the building up and start-up of the new drug product siteSite Lean & Digital Roadmap setup and implementation: Develop and implement a site-level Lean, AI & digital transformation roadmap, conduct gap analyses to identify opportunities (e.g., AI, automation), and evaluate lean & digital tools to meet strategic and operational needsDrive business process improvement and digital transformation by leading continuous improvement teams, overseeing LPS and optimization projects, facilitating Operational Excellence, conducting training, supporting production problem-solving, managing stakeholder communication, and adopting suitable digital tools and technologiesCross-Functional Leadership and Process Optimization: Lead cross-functional lean & AI/ digital projects, deliver end-to-end solutions, and use lean & digital tools to optimize production processes, enhancing quality, efficiency, and traceabilityChange Management and Cultural Transformation: Implement change management plans, run Lean & AI & digital campaigns to drive best practices and alignment, and enhance employee Lean & AI & digital skills to foster a digitally-driven organizational culturePrinciple Roles & Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesLeadership & People Management:Possesses strong creative leadership competencies and integrates Leadership Commitments into daily practices. Have a firm understanding of people practices including finding people, developing people, rewarding people and building our organization and apply these in order to shape the site cultureBuild a culture of continuous improvement and model lean leadership principlesDP New Site Building Up and Start-up & Business Support:Support DP new site building up and start-up by fostering collaboration, monitoring progress, mitigating risks, implementing continuous improvement, while maintaining quality and safetyCoordinate stakeholders to develop the site lean & digital strategy, and lead and maintain strategy deployment and realizationLead functions to development, implementation and monitoring of site goals and KPI’s through strategy deploymentAI & DigitalDevelop and execute a site level AI & digital transformation roadmap aligned with site business goals and global strategy/ initiativesConduct gap analyses to identify AI/ digital opportunities (e.g. automation, AI) and address challengesLead and coordinate cross-functional AI/ digital project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standardsLead multiple cross-functional AI/ digital projects and develop thoughtful end-to-end solutionsEvaluate and select AI/ digital tools/technologies to meet strategic objectives and operational needsLead and participate in process optimization projects using AI/ digital and statistical tools to sustainably increase the quality, efficiency, and traceability of production processesDevelop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth execution of AI/ digital transformation initiativesFacilitate the AI/ Digital Campaigns by driving best practices, continuous improvement, feedback, and facilitating regular communication to ensure priorities are clear and processes are alignedEnhance employees’ AI & digital awareness and skills through tailored training programs and drive organizational AI & digital cultural transformationLeadership:Build and maintain strong partnerships with other site and network leaders to assure alignment around strategic projects and day-to-day activities and to assure mutually successful working relationshipsAbility to implement, coach and apply lean and agile ways of working. Develop and communicate organizational strategies, which ensure the GMP compliance of the site, continuous improvements and achievement of long-term goalsBuild a culture of digitalization, continuous improvement and role model lean leadership principlesQualification And ExperienceBachelor / master degree preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, or Engineering8 Years project management experience preferably within the pharmaceutical Industry and/or Operations including influence in the design of digital manufacturing processes Experience with the digital landscape of operations (shop floor systems, QC systems, data management) and have a working knowledge of incident management processesSuccessfully led large-scale digital projects or programs, demonstrating your ability to efficiently and effectively manage complex tasksJob Required CompetenciesPharmaceutical Industry-Related CompetenciesRegulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations (e.g., GxP, FDA, EMA regulations) and data compliance standards (e.g., ALCOA+, etc.)Knowledge of Drug Development and Production Processes: Understanding of end-to-end processes in pharmaceutical development and productionLaboratory Information Management System (LIMS): Familiarity with the functionalities and applications of LIMS, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systemsDrug Traceability and Supply Chain Management: Understanding the digital requirements of pharmaceutical supply chains (e.g., batch traceability and cold chain management) as well as the relevant technical solutionsAI & Digital Transformation CompetenciesData Governance and Analytical Skills: Capability to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets to support decision-making, particularly in clinical research, quality management, and operational optimization. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML): Ability to apply AI/ML to address challenges in the pharmaceutical industry, such as drug discovery and clinical trial optimization. Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Manufacturing: Understanding the application of IoT in pharmaceutical production, such as real-time data acquisition, product quality monitoring, and predictive maintenance. Enterprise AI & Digital Transformation Strategy: Ability to drive the overall digital vision for pharmaceutical companies and design and execute end-to-end AI & digital projectsProject Management and Change LeadershipCross-Functional Team Collaboration: Ability to establish collaboration among teams from technical operations, production, facility and engineering, quality, supply chain, IT, and complianceAgile Project Management: Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and the implementation of Agile practices specific to the pharmaceutical industryChange Management: Effective management of organizational change, guiding teams to understand and adopt new technologies and processesTechnical CompetenciesFoundational Data Science Skills: Proficiency in essential data-processing tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
