DescriptionPublic Disclosure Specialist – Forms and Records Analyst 3Center for Facilities, Risk, and AdjudicationPermanent Full-time HomebasedAs a Public Disclosure Specialist, you’ll manage public records requests from start to finish, interpret disclosure rules, ensure accurate recordkeeping, and provide timely, professional service to staff and the public.What You’ll DoReview, redact, and release records in compliance with public disclosure laws.Manage multiple requests and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.Digitize and prepare records, including complex or sensitive materials, for public release.Research and locate responsive records across various department areas.Guide complex requests and help shape internal disclosure processes.This role is essential to the Department of Health’s mission to protect and improve the health of all Washingtonians. It involves managing public records responsibly and transparently, ensuring accuracy and quality while handling multiple requests. Experience in public disclosure, records management, or related areas, along with familiarity with applicable statutes, policies, and procedures, supports success in this role. Knowledge of digitization, redaction software, and database systems, as well as strong analytical, research, and customer service skills, further enhances the department’s ability to remain accountable, informed, and responsive to the public.Location and Flexibility We value work-life balance and offer the convenience of remote work with occasional in-person collaboration opportunities. Attending events or working in the office is rarely required and would be scheduled in advance. This is a remote/home-based position available to applicants residing anywhere in Washington State, as well as those living near the Oregon/Washington border and the Idaho/Washington border.Required Qualifications (you must meet ONE of the options provided and any additional criteria listed.):Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities.Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.Option 1: Four (4) years of experience performing two (2) or more of the following:Forms and records management or public records disclosureConducting research and analyzing policies, laws, rules, or regulations regarding record management principlesClerical duties such as preparing, proofing, and editing correspondence or training materials. Customer service that includes resolving problems or responding to inquiries involving confidential or protected information.Option 2: Associate degree AND Three (3) years of experience performing two (2) or more of the following:Forms and/or records management or public records disclosureConducting research and analyzing policies, laws, rules, or regulations regarding record management principlesClerical duties such as preparing, proofing, and editing correspondence or training materials. Customer service that includes resolving problems or responding to inquiries involving confidential or protected information Option 3: A bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration, or a closely allied field. AND One (1) year of experience performing two (2) or more of the following:Forms and/or records management or public records disclosureConducting research and analyzing policies, laws, rules, or regulations regarding record management principlesClerical duties such as preparing, proofing, and editing correspondence or training materials.
