Purchasing Officer

Your new company Our client delivers high-quality construction projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, sport & leisure, and childcare & education. We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their head office in Cavan on a full-time basis.Key Responsibilities of the Role:Responsible for procurement for the pay process from sourcing to invoice clearanceSupplier sourcing and negotiationsConducting bid analysis and processing of purchase ordersLiaison with suppliers and accounts payable regarding invoice queriesThe preparation of regular reports on purchasing activitiesMaintain procurement schedules with the project team.Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as sites and suppliersMaximise value opportunities through adherence to specific supplier agreementsTake the lead on materials purchasing for specific projects as assigned by the purchasing managerWhat you'll need to succeed Minimum of 3-5 years' work experience in a similar role in the construction, engineering or manufacturing sector.Proven experience working with ERP systemsStrong knowledge of tools and Plant for construction.Experience in a similar role within an engineering or construction company.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.Strong negotiation skills and supplier relationship management experienceWhat you'll get in return Be part of a family run construction firm, working across a diverse portfolio of clients.
