Position: Senior Developer – Market Risk Technology📍 Locations: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – Onsite 2-4x/week) / 44 King Street W, 19th Floor📅 Duration: 06+ months (possible extensions) Responsibilities:Design, develop, and deliver highly complex applications with focus on accuracy, performance, security, and user experience.Utilize technologies including Python (Pandas), Java, MS SQL, Linux, and applications deployed on Public/Private Cloud (GCP).Collaborate with senior management to drive strategy for modernizing market risk management platforms.Participate in design, development, and implementation of quality solutions for complex business problems.Implement new systems or enhance existing ones ensuring end-to-end integration and operational readiness.Build automated testing and regression suites using DevOps principles.Coordinate infrastructure needs for Windows Servers (MS SQL DB), cloud infrastructure, and assist with documentation for architecture, security, and operational readiness.Support web application updates (front-end) and other development initiatives as needed.Must-Have Skills:10+ years as a Developer.5+ years in Python with Pandas and at least one web framework (e.g., Flask).3+ years in Java (Spring Boot, Swing GUI, JDK 21).10+ years with MS SQL.Strong Linux experience (command line, shell scripting).Experience with DevOps tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins Cloudbees).Cloud-based application and microservices experience (GCP).Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, microservices architecture, multi-threading techniques.Nice-to-Have Skills:Exposure to Apache Airflow and Nifi.Market risk or financial risk experience.Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Motivated and capable of taking leadership responsibilities.Education:Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
