The successful candidate will have the authority to approve or reject the quality of work related to aircraft assembly operations, based on dimensional, functional, and visual inspections.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct in-process, final, and First Article Inspections (FAI) of aircraft assemblies and systems.Utilize inspection tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and cable tensiometers.Interpret technical data, engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.Initiate and manage non-conformance reports and quality deficiency documentation.Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues.Inspect pre-fabricated parts, sub-assemblies, and mechanical systems for fit, function, and compliance.Plan inspection methods and sequences when documentation is incomplete.Perform functional and continuity tests on installations and mechanical systems.Monitor work areas for adherence to quality procedures, tool calibration, and material shelf life.Conduct product and process audits as part of the FAI process.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in aerospace product inspection, including familiarity with parts, assemblies, machining, and assembly processes.Strong technical and organizational skills to support aircraft delivery schedules.Hands-on experience with First Article Inspection and AS9102 standards.Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and interpreting engineering documentation.Experience with non-conformance and corrective action processes.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, noisy manufacturing environment.Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and perform heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs).Willingness to work rotating shifts as required.EducationTechnical college diploma or equivalent vocational training in aircraft assembly inspection.Strong background in quality assurance, inspection procedures, and engineering specifications.Additional InformationA criminal background check will be conducted upon hire.Accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process in accordance with applicable accessibility legislation.Commitment to InclusionWe acknowledge that this opportunity is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Huron-Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and other Indigenous peoples.
