QS/Estimation Engineer for Interior

Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTIONQuantity Take-off & BOQ Preparation:Review architectural, ID, and MEP drawings to prepare accurate quantity take-offs.Develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for all trades – including ceilings, partitions, flooring, joinery, finishes, and furniture.Ensure that all quantities align with project specifications and client requirements.Cost Estimation & Budgeting:Prepare detailed cost estimates for tendering and budgeting purposes.Analyze material, labor, and equipment costs for interior works.Create budget proposals and assist in preparing cost plans for projects.Tendering & Bid Support:Compile tender submissions, pricing schedules, and technical documents.Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.Coordinate with procurement and design teams for accurate bid pricing.Cost Control & Variations:Monitor project costs to ensure alignment with the approved budget.Identify and evaluate variation orders and prepare claims accordingly.Assist in value engineering by proposing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.Post-Contract Duties (if applicable):Measure completed works on-site for interim valuations and final accounts.Prepare and certify subcontractor payments based on actual work done.Assist in closing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.Procurement Support:Coordinate with procurement team to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.Provide material quantity requirements and assist in negotiation with suppliers.Technical Coordination:Work closely with interior designers, MEP engineers, and site execution teams.Ensure that all quantity and cost-related inputs align with technical specifications and project scope.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain all estimating files, cost data, correspondence, and logs.Prepare cost reports, cash flows, and financial tracking documentation.Compliance & Standards:Ensure all estimates and BOQs comply with local regulations, building codes, and contract specifications.Follow ISO, company QMS, or other relevant quality standards.QualificationsExperience with BOQ and Project EstimationProficiency in Civil Engineering principles and practicesStrong Negotiation and Research skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldExperience in interior projects and construction industry is a plusAbility to work effectively in an on-site, team-oriented environment
