Job Description – Quality Control (QC) Engineer (Client Side)Position SummaryThe Quality Control Engineer (Client Side) reporting to Quality Control Manager and  is responsible for ensuring that all project works executed by the Contractor meet the client’s quality requirements, project specifications, applicable codes, and standards. The QC Engineer oversees inspections, reviews documentation, ensures compliance with the approved ITPs, and supports the client’s objectives. Key Responsibilities1. Quality Assurance & ComplianceReview and approve Contractor’s Quality Control procedures, ITPs, method statements, and material submittals.Ensure all works comply with project specifications, contract documents, codes (ASTM, ACI, BS/EN, ISO), and client standards.Verify that Contractor’s QA/QC team, equipment, and testing laboratories meet project requirements.2. Site Inspections & MonitoringConduct daily site inspections for civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works as applicable.Verify execution is as per approved shop drawings and QCP/ITP.Raise NCRs, SORs, or site observations for non-compliance; follow up on corrective actions.Monitor and verify material deliveries and ensure materials meet approved specifications.3. Documentation & ReportingReview Contractor’s inspection requests (IRs) and ensure timely closure.Maintain accurate, updated logs for inspections, test results, NCRs, and quality documents.Prepare daily/weekly quality reports for client/PMC management.Ensure proper documentation is maintained for QA/QC audits and handover.4. Testing & VerificationWitness laboratory and field tests (concrete tests, soil compaction, welding, MEP testing, etc.).Review test results and ensure compliance.Coordinate with third-party laboratories and verify calibration certificates.5. Coordination & CommunicationCoordinate closely with Construction Supervision, HSE, Planning, and Engineering teams.Attend weekly quality meetings with the Contractor.Support Technical/Engineering teams in resolving quality-related issues.Assist in client/PMC audits and site walkthroughs.6. Handover & Close-OutVerify that snagging/punch list works are completed per client requirements.Ensure all as-built documents, test certificates, QA/QC dossiers, and warranties are in place.Support handover process to client’s FM/end-user team. Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in civil5–10 years of QA/QC experience in construction, with at least 3 years on the client or consultant side.Strong knowledge of QA/QC standards (ISO 9001, local authority regulations).Experience with large-scale building/infrastructure projects preferred.Good understanding of project specifications, contract procedures, and ITP/QCP processes.Certifications such as QA/QC, ISO Lead Auditor, or PMP are advantageous. Skills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and analytical skills.Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents.Effective communication and reporting skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.Proficiency in MS Office and QA/QC documentation systems.
