As a Quality Inspector III, reporting directly to the Manager of Quality Control, you will perform dimensional inspections using advanced tools and techniques to verify that our products meet rigorous contractual and engineering standards. This role offers hands-on experience with state-of-the-art Computer-Aided Inspection (CAI) equipment at the operator level, while supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs through close collaboration with engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform independent inspections, validations, and verifications of hardware to ensure compliance with drawings and contractual requirements.Perform intermediate-level inspections utilizing surface plate techniques and computer-aided inspection (CAI) equipment USING CMM machine and Verisurf software at the operator level. Perform intermediate-level inspections utilizing different CAI equipment like different FARO/Romer arms, laser trackers, and video dimensioning systems - at the operator level.Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles including Angularity, Profile, Runout, Symmetry, and True Position.Use basic algebra and trigonometry to calculate true positions and perform dimensional analysisInterpret and communicate inspection results and issues to customers, engineers, and managementOperate and interpret programs/models for CAI equipment as neededPerform casting and forging layouts as requiredProvide guidance and oversight to junior inspectorsConduct source inspections and travel in support of Marvin Engineering Company (MEC) quality needsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum 5 years of experience as a dimensional inspectorMinimum 3 years of direct, hands-on experience operating surface plates and Computer-Aided Inspection (CAI) equipment such as CMMs (e.g., Verisurf) at the operator level.Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their practical applicationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements with minimal supervisionProficiency in basic algebra and trigonometryEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to follow instructions and work independentlyComfortable working in a diverse team environmentAbility to lift up to 35lbsFluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)Preferred QualificationsCollege degree in Engineering or related technical fieldCertifications in GD&T, Quality Inspection, or relevant ASQ areas.Experience interpreting and using CAI programs and 3D models.Familiarity with advanced CAI systems such as Laser Trackers or Video Dimensioning tools.Experience performing casting and forging layoutsExperience conducting source inspectionsPrior experience mentoring or training junior inspectorsWork EnvironmentMedium-to-large inspection laboratory/machine shop environmentFast paced environmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderateThis position must meet export control compliance requirements.
