Job DescriptionPosition and Company SummaryThe Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing quality standards and processes to ensure products and services meet or exceed customer expectations. This role ensures that all fiber operating plants produce products that meet required standards, driving a culture of continuous improvement and consistency across sites. The Quality Manager develops and implements key elements of the Quality Management System (QMS), coordinates quality processes from raw materials through finished goods, and partners with plants to reduce defects and minimize customer complaints.Duties And ResponsibilitiesQuality Management System (QMS) and PolicyDefine and establish quality standards, policies, specifications, and procedures that align with customer and industry requirements. Lead the implementation and maintenance of the QMS across all departments to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, RHP). Maintain all quality-related documentation, including procedures, reports, and records of changes. Quality Control and AssuranceOversee inspections and testing of raw materials and finished products to verify conformity to standards. Analyze quality data (e.g., defect rates, waste, customer feedback) to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Conduct internal and external audits, investigate root causes of quality issues, and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Manage supplier quality and ensure retention and proper management of quality samples. Continuous ImprovementUse Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies to drive process improvements and reduce waste. Act as the voice of the customer by resolving complaints and leveraging feedback to enhance product quality. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality awareness, and accountability across all sites. Leadership and CommunicationRecruit, train, and lead the quality assurance and control teams, ensuring staff are equipped with the skills and tools to meet quality goals. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Product Development to integrate quality into all stages of the product lifecycle. Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior leadership, linking metrics to business and financial objectives. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong relationship-building and influencing ability. Skilled in multitasking, prioritization, and conflict resolution in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; proficient in root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams). High attention to detail, risk management mindset, and adaptability in dynamic environments. Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office; self-motivated and detail oriented. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to other plants. Education And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a Quality-related field. 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in people leadership. Experience implementing and managing a QMS in a manufacturing setting (ISO certification experience preferred). Proven success leading quality improvement initiatives across one or more sites. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Language SkillsAbility to read, write, and speak English.
