We're seeking a strategic and experienced leader to join a state-wide project team focused on delivering specialised behavioural support to schools across Queensland. The Principal Advisor, Intensive Support (Curriculum) works collaboratively with school and regional staff to assist in the development of curriculum supports within high- quality Individual Behaviour Support Plans and provide coaching and support to staff to implement these plans. This position offers the successful applicant an opportunity to maintain regular connection and involvement with schools while also influencing policy design and services. This is a temporary full-time project position until 30 June 2027, unless otherwise determined.

Provide project planning and support to assist with the development and implementation of department strategic initiatives within Student Support, Behaviour. Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role. Responsibilities IncludeThe Principal Advisor, Intensive Support (Curriculum) has responsibility for the following: Collaborate with regional experts and school staff to design high quality curriculum supports for students. Identify the needs of regional and school staff and provide evidence-based training, coaching and resources to ensure best practice in service delivery.
Lead and conduct specialised projects and innovative research activities, relating to the delivery and continuous improvement of services within schools. Design and implement evaluation and monitoring processes which measure the impact of strategic initiatives to inform current and future agendas. Foster a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment that encourages, professional growth and continuous improvement. As this vacancy involves regular school and regional office visits to deliver face to face services, it is a requirement to possess a current driver's licence.
Highly Desirable Skills And ExperienceExperience working in schools as a head of curriculum, head of inclusion, behaviour analyst, behaviour support practitioner or behaviour therapist. The Principal Advisor reports to Director, Student Behaviour, State Schools Strategy. Interested?
