Radar System Engineer

We are supporting a specialist defense technology business to hire an experienced Systems Engineer to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This is a hands-on, field-focused role working on the design, integration and delivery of complex mobile platforms carrying high-end electronic systems.You will play a key role in taking mission-critical systems from concept through to fully deployed, operational solutions in the Kingdom, while closely interfacing with engineering teams in Europe.As Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering of mobile land platforms such as:Equipped sheltersTactical vehiclesMobile command postsThese platforms host advanced payloads including radar, electronic warfare (EW), command & control (C2), communications and sensor systems.Key responsibilities include:Leading platform-level design: structure, power distribution, HVAC/thermal management, ICT/networking, telescopic masts, stabilization, PLC, wiring and lightning protectionTranslating customer and project requirements into technical specifications, system architectures, electrical schemes, BoMs and acceptance protocolsExecuting hardware/software payload integration, configuration, testing and upgradesSupporting and supervising factory and site acceptance activities for both payload and complete platformActing as primary technical interface with the end customer and end-users (including Armed Forces) in Saudi ArabiaProviding on-site support, troubleshooting, on-the-job training, technical reporting and integrated logistics support (ILS)Coordinating with suppliers, managing HQ assets on site, conducting inspections and resolving integrated logistic/technical issues in-countryThis is a senior, hands-on position with significant responsibility on live projects and direct impact on operational outcomes.We are looking for a Systems Engineer with a strong background in electronic/mechatronic systems and complex platform integration.Essential requirements:Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (or closely related discipline)Minimum 5 years’ experience in systems engineering for complex platforms (e.g. defense, telecom, radar, EW, secure communications or similar)Deep knowledge of RF, antennas, video/digital systems and telecom/EW/radar equipmentProficiency with electrical and mechanical CAD/CAE toolsSolid understanding of networking and ICT; comfortable working with Linux-based systemsHands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, link-budget calculations)Proven track record of system integration, testing and field deploymentStrong problem-solving skills and a customer-facing mindsetFluent English (written and spoken)Personal attributes:Comfortable working in the field and on customer sites, not only in an office or labAble to operate autonomously in a multi-cultural, multi-site environmentClear, structured communicator with the confidence to interface with demanding end-usersPractical, resilient and solutions-focused under pressureOpportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile defense platforms with high-end EW/radar/C2 payloadsEnd-to-end responsibility: from design and integration through to fielded operational systemsHigh visibility role with direct interaction with end-users and international engineering teamsCompetitive package and long-term career potential in a growing regional marketTo express interest or request a confidential discussion about this Systems Engineer opportunity, please get in touch and we will share further details.
