We develop projects under VERRA VM047 CCB standards. The RoleSierra Leone is one of our flagship operations, on a path to restore 100,000 hectares of degraded land to tropical forest by 2040. With more than 1,000 people today and led by a team of highly experienced commercial foresters and scientists, the company is seeking a passionate Nursery Manager to join our Sierra Leone team.
You will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the end-end nursery operations of the Company in Bo District, Sierra Leone. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the construction and operation of the nursery facilities to ensure continuous delivery of quality seedlings as required by the silviculture team. In such a role it is crucial the Nursery Manager is a strong communicator and leader, able to train and develop top talent and build a cohesive and motivated team. You will work closely with the Group Nursery Manager, the Chief Scientist and key external research partners to develop Rainforest Builder nursery function to further the Group鈥檚 vision to become the leading tropical forest restoration company in Africa. Responsibilities: 路聽聽聽聽聽聽Manage: the overall nursery operations of the Company in the Sierra Leone. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽Planning and overseeing the development, operation, output and management to produce pre-agreed species mix and volume output. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽Development and improvement of the nurseries for efficient operation including its road access network, buildings, compound, workshops and other infrastructure.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽Responsibility to manage the Company鈥檚 nursery function to ensure timely production of annual budgets, annual plans of operations, including planning, physical delineation of expanded nursery facilities and infrastructure with a hands-on approach Required: 路聽聽聽聽聽聽Bachelor or Masters degree in Forestry, Horticulture or a related field or equivalent. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽A minimum of 10 years of experience applied Nursery experience with a proven track record. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽Ability to think strategically and execute operationally.
