The role involves overseeing a team of third-party claims handlers and recovery specialists, fostering a collaborative work environment, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness in third-party claims management. The role requires strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills, as well as a deep understanding of insurance claims and recoveries principles.Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing the third-party claims process, which includes indemnity and recovery claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and performance relative to set targets.Main responsibilities of a Third-Party Claims Manager:Oversee the end-to-end third-party indemnity claims process, including claim registration, investigation, assessment, negotiation, and settlement. Oversee the end-to-end third-party recoveries process, including identifying liable third parties, pursuing recoveries, and negotiating and pursuing settlements.Lead and manage a team of claims handlers and recovery specialists, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to ensure effective performance and achievement of targets.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in third-party claims handling.Implement quality assurance measures to maintain accuracy and consistency in third-party claims processing.Assess and mitigate risks associated with third-party claims, including fraud detection and prevention measures. Coordinate with claims handlers and investigators to gather evidence and information to support third-party recovery claims.Negotiate with third parties, their insurers, and legal representatives to reach fair and favourable settlements for indemnity and recovery claims.Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors, such as legal advisors and recovery agents, to facilitate efficient claims management and resolution.Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to third-party claims processing, analyse data trends, and prepare regular reports for management review.Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service, to resolve customer queries and issues promptly and effectively.Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in the third-party claims handling operations. Develop and implement strategies to enhance recoveries outcomes and maximize revenue.Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including panel attorneys and contingency agents, ensuring SLA alignment and performance excellence.Collaborate with internal teams, such as assessors, MCT, and finance, to streamline operations, maintain compliance, and manage budgets effectively.Qualification & ExperienceMatricCompleted LLB Degree. Admitted attorney.Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims management, with a focus on third-party indemnity and recovery claims.Strong understanding of insurance principles, policies, and regulations.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
