Detailed Job DescriptionPURPOSETo facilitate and coordinate human resources activity in the areas of recruitment & selection and support the implementation of HR change initiatives, thereby ensuring that the needs of the company are kept current.ACCOUNTABILITYThe incumbent is directly accountable to the Principal Advisor, Human Resources.Responsibilities & Performance StandardsWorking within legislative requirements and accepted timelines, complete the full recruitment & selection cycle including, interviewing, advertising, selection, testing, reference checking, delivery of the on-boarding and orientation program.Develop, implement and monitor recruitment and retention strategies.Creating and managing job descriptions.Organizing and attending job fairs.Coordinate apprentice training program, as well as assisting employees who challenge trade qualifying examinations.Remain current with human resources, employment and workforce development programs through self-development initiatives.Organizing and conducting New Hire Orientation.Attend and complete union/management meeting minutes.Assist Principal Advisor with labour relations.Assist with policy development and updating.Updating and distributing employee handbook.Assist with company functions.QualificationsEducationPost-secondary education/coursework in Human Resources Management or General Studies. A professional designation such as CHRP or RPR is an asset.ExperienceOne to three years’ experience in the Human Resources field with direct experience in recruitment and selection. 1 – 2 years’ experience in a mining or industrial environment is preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWell developed intuitive & interpersonal skills, problem solving abilities, strong sense of urgency and your ability to build relationships will be essential.Well developed computer skills, MS Office.Ability to facilitate presentations in staff training and orientationMust have demonstrated an excellent safety attitude, performance and attendance record.Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems in a logical mannerAble to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful circumstancesAbility to manage time and prioritize effectivelyEffective organizational and communication skillsEffective creative thinking skillsWell developed computer skills including the use of presentation softwareKnowledge of employment standards and labour relations legislationPhysical RequirementsThe incumbent needs to be able to:handle loads up to 20 kg. in weightoperate a vehicle requiring a Class 5 licensesit for over 60 consecutive minutesconcentrate for over 60 consecutive minutesWORK ENVIRONMENTCompetitive compensation package with paid time off and living out allowance.RRSP plan with company offering matching contributions.This position will be on an EDO schedule where the individual will work 9-hour days and get every second Friday off to help facilitate work/life balance.This position is based in Grande Cache, Alberta. Please be advised there are no camp facilities available. The commute from Grande Cache is approximately 20 km on Highway 40 North.
