SummaryThe MESC Recruitment Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for recruitment and retention and supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the Human Resources & Recruitment processes.  As an employee in the organization, you will model the intent of the Maskwacis Declaration on Education and the core values of Wahkohtowin, Iyiniw Mamotohnehicikan, Nehiyaw Pimatisiwin, and Nehiyawewin.ResponsibilitiesThe Recruitment Assistant is responsible to the Director of Human Resources.The Recruitment Assistant duties include but are not limited to:Recruitment & RetentionCreate interview schedulesContact applicants to schedule interviewsCoordinate interview dates and times with hiring managersPrepare interview guides and packagesBook meeting roomsPost interview follow-upsCoordinating onboarding schedulesAssist with contract signing when requiredCreate employee files when requiredMaintain Casual/Sub hire listsAttend Recruitment and promotional events with the RecruiterProvide admin support to the People Services branch as requiredProvide backup to other PS Admin Support Staff during absencesAssist the Director of School Personnel with: Processing and maintaining paperwork for subs, casual & practicum placementsPreparing, organizing and filing school-based HR documentsAssist with the coordination of professional developmentAssist with the orientation of new hires Assist with data collection and reporting  Other duties as assignedTechnical SupportPosting Job VacanciesFollow up with applicants for document collectionAssist recruiter as requiredRecruitment PlatformsCommunications Liaise with comms for promotional material i.e.: pamphlets, brochures, job postings, and posters.  Data Collection Recruitment and Selection Metrics tracking Post Secondary Practicum Placement trackingApplicant trackingRetention trackingUpdate tracking sheetsQualifications Administrative Assistant Certification and/or related post-secondary trainingComputer training and/or experience: Google Suite is an asset Experience in Human Resources and/or recruitment is an assetKnowledge and understanding of labour standards and employment laws is an assetA willingness to acquire additional training as neededWorking ConditionsFast-paced work environmentManual dexterity is required to use computers and peripheralsIntermittent physical activity, including walking, standing, and sitting for extended periodsTravel may be required Overtime as requiredKnowledge and SkillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to use a high level of discretion regarding personal and confidential informationAbility to work with a minimum of supervisionDemonstrated respect for diverse backgrounds, perspectives and abilitiesA high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptabilityHigh level of sound, independent judgment and reasoning skills Desire to work within a team environment to meet organizational goalsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesAbility to maintain meticulous recordsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentUnderstanding of local, provincial, and federal workplace regulations, ordinances, and legislation would be an asset.The ability to speak and understand Cree is an assetKnowledge of the Cree Culture is an assetExperience in report writing and data collectionAdhere to MESC operating policies and proceduresMaintain strict confidentiality and integrity of data and informationMaintain positive relationships with the communityFollow directions and guidance from the SupervisorStrong interpersonal skills and professional demeanour
