Recruitment Lead - Agency in Amsterdam

Posted: 3 minutes ago

Job Description

I was never going to do rec2rec again. I’m a recruitment coach. And I love it.Then I started coaching a boutique IT recruitment agency who are in need of a Lead for their Amsterdam office. It annoyed me that nobody else is doing a proper job of looking for the right candidate. So here I am.Advertising for a job I would have bitten your arm off for 10 years ago.Interested yet? Here’s the situation:They are a REALLY cool boutique agency and when I say boutique I don’t mean a tiny start-up in a dim basement. I mean an agency with several offices in Europe and in the US. With a founder who I genuinely like. Not the type that walks around in a suit and fancy pants. He is a dad to 2 kids, who you can have a coffee with and talk about both business and life. The kind that isn’t a KPI manager and who still speaks with clients himself. They used to have a small team NL but their main guy left to set up on his own (fair play). Now they are 2 consultants in NL and 2 in the UK working the NL market. They have 10 signed clients with live jobs at the moment (perm), either retained or exclusive, in software engineering or data. (I said: boutique!)Here’s the kicker: I asked how many businesses in NL they have signed terms with? Wanna guess?100+What we’re doing now:We’re (read: me) seeking an agency recruiter in Amsterdam with 2 – 4 years experience who wants to have lunch with the 10 live clients, put on a meetup for their candidate network and call the 100+ signed clients to catch-up.Someone who has done perm or contract recruitment before in an agency and who has their own ideas on what good looks like.Who wants others to do well, without turning the office into a KPI factory.Where we are going:• Your role will be to meet with the 10 live clients, keep them happy.• Call the 100+ dormant clients, make them happy.• Help the 2 consultants in the team, make them better every day.And grow the office to 12 in the next 2 years. You’ll report directly to the founder so there are 0 office politics and communication lines couldn’t be shorter. You’re not alone in this journey, you'll have peers in Europe and the US who are growing their office too. You’ll be able to soundboard with them at all times.ANDYou get 1:1 coaching from me, whilst I’m also helping you train your team. The logistics and other details• The office is in in Central Amsterdam• You are a fluent or native English speaker as everyone in the team is English speaking• Office policy is 4 days per week in the office, Friday from home but reality is the teams stick together and are often in 5 days per week• Salary I can tell you ranges but it’s recruitment and we all know exactly how this works, especially you if you’re a decent recruiter. Tell me what you’re on, what you bill and what you want. There.• You’ll get commission on your deals as everyone else and when the team has grown to 5, you and the owner chat about overrides and you help shape it for NL.• Initially your job title is Head of Netherlands, or Recruitment Lead NL, or whatever title in that direction you want.• When you officially become a Director, you get a % of the profit and loss. (that’s fun isn’t it?!)The interview process is a chat with moi (YAY), then a call/google meets with the owner to see if there is that spark between you two, a chat with your peers in Europe/US where you can ask all possible questions on how they have done it and how they are doing it, and then the owner flies over to Amsterdam to meet you in-person and offer you something you’re well prepared for and will happily sign. Ideally you start in Jan or Feb. Aware that this is an unusual job advert, if you’ve been reading this so far I’d like to urge you to either apply or message me.LinkedIn tends to close my job slots the minute I have 25 applicants, so if you see it’s closed, connect with me and send me a DM.  I’d sworn I’d never do rec2rec again.
