Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced head of department (HoD) PE, to provide curriculum leadership and ensure excellence in teaching and learning in Physical education across our New Zealand region’s 18 campuses.As regional HoD of PE, you will be responsible for what is taught and how it’s taught. You will lead curriculum design through the Learning to Learn Framework, ensuring assignments and lessons are engaging, innovative, and of the highest quality.This role provides academic leadership across campuses by guiding teachers, overseeing curriculum and assessment, and ensuring alignment with NCEA requirements. It supports and mentors staff to maintain high teaching standards, collaborates with principals to monitor student progress, and promotes a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.What You BringProven excellence as a classroom teacher in PELeadership experience at middle or senior school level.Strong curriculum planning and assessment expertise.Ability to inspire, support and hold staff accountable.Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.Experience using digital learning tools effectively.Valid NZ teachers registrationEligibility to work in NZWhy You Will Love Working With UsCompetitive remuneration: Enjoy a salary consistently above the state sector.
