Cooley is seeking a Regional Marketing Coordinator to join the team in Shanghai/Beijing.Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator will work closely with firm attorneys and other marketing team members to support all marketing and business development activities for practice areas including but not limited to Investment Funds, Capital Markets, Life Sciences and General Corporate. The primary goal is to drive revenue through support of new business opportunities and client expansion programs, including events and sponsorships, social media promotion, sales pipeline management, and pitches and proposals. This position is responsible for working with attorneys to respond to marketing and business development requests in a manner consistent with the firm’s overall strategy. Work is defined by the goals, objectives and policies of the department and the practices. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Position Responsibilities:Programs and visibility initiativesCollaborate with practice group partners and marketing colleagues to execute hosted events, client receptions and alumni programsHelp manage business sponsorships and activities tied to industry and business organizations in which the designated practice group is activeHelp champion firm branding and related standards on creative services projectsHelp provide input and recommendations on local marketing programs and budget as related to the designated practice groupIdentify and support networking, speaking, media opportunities for designated practice group attorneys that support practice group business plansBusiness DevelopmentServe as resource for business development/sales support for attorneys in designated office/practice groupsWork with the marketing managers, Director of Marketing & Business Development, Asia, and partners to formulate and implement policies and procedures for business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, client presentations, pipeline management and market developmentAssist with marketing support for RFPs/RFIs, pitches, proposals, and pursuits with potential revenue gainCoordinate and participate in business development training sessionsHelp identify and evaluate new business opportunities and targets, which includes identifying trends in the marketplace, supporting key targeting initiatives, conducting business research and relationship searches, collecting key target account data, and participating on client-specific target teamsSupport targeting initiatives consistent with overall practice group and firm strategyAssist with assessing, analyzing, targeting and initiating efforts to cultivate new clients for the firm and expand Cooley’s cross-selling opportunities (between practice groups and among our various offices)Effectively articulate the value proposition of firm’s services to specifically targeted clientsKnowledge ManagementTrack and report on designated practice group activities, status and teamsDevelop and maintain marketing materials and collateral (descriptions, engagement lists, client lists, awards, etc.)Steer data using the appropriate firm technologies and services, including external research databases (CRM (Salesforce), SCORE, Intranet, Library Services, Pitchbook, CapitalIQ, IPO Vital Signs, Deal Point Data, etc.)Promote exposure to practice group and individual attorneys internallySupport deal tracking and reporting efforts for the practiceAssist with lateral attorney orientation and onboarding processOperationsSupport research projects for strategic market opportunitiesAssist attorneys and business professionals through effective communication ensuring a well-informed and highly motivated team effortWork cooperatively with business professionals at the local office to advance both marketing and general administrative goals and projectsRole model the use of the CRM tool in managing the sales pipeline and for practice group business developmentAll other duties as assigned or requiredSkills & ExperienceRequired:After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applicationsAvailable to work overtime, as required2+ years direct applicable marketing experienceFamiliarity with overseeing corporate WeChat accountsHigh proficiency in English and Chinese required for liaising with vendors and drafting of marketing materials for the Asia officesPreferred:Bachelor’s Degree in business, communication, marketing, or related fieldBusiness development experience or sales experienceExperience in a law firm or professional services environment, with a working knowledge of professional services industriesFamiliarity with using LinkedIn and Instagram as promotional toolsProject management experience and direct experience in creating and monitoring sales and business plans, goal tracking and sales pipeline managementCompetenciesProactive self-starter who is able to work in a demanding, project-based environmentAbility to work with little direct supervision, in a highly collaborative environmentAbility to multi-task, problem solve, work well under pressure and coordinate sophisticated marketing programs with good results.
