Company DescriptionEuropean Relations is launching its Ukraine Section and looking for dedicated Regular Contributors to contribute regularly to the Ukraine Section’s remote team (about one to two articles per month). This is a flexible remote position with room for your own interests and voice. As European Relations is a non-profit organisation, all positions are volunteer and unpaid.In the Ukraine Section of European Relations, Regular Contributors and Editors collaborate on publishing high-quality articles concerning Europe and Ukraine, making Ukrainian affairs a central part of European discourse.Role DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:Write one to two articles per month that provide analysis and commentary on current European issues from a Ukrainian perspective, as well as Ukrainian affairs from a European perspective, and events or developments in Ukraine with European dimensions or implications.Pitch new article ideas and develop them in coordination with the other Regular Contributors and the editorial teamParticipate in monthly meetings to coordinate within the sectionWhat We’re Looking For:Strong English skills (C1 level or above) In-depth knowledge of national discourses in Ukraine on European issues (broad or topic-specific)Interest in EU/European issues in generalWillingness to engage in regular team communication and content planning for publicationsAcademic experience in, e.g., European Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, Environmental Sciences or related fields A talent for expressing ideas clearly and writing for a wider (not just academic) audienceWhy join?✅ Make Ukrainian affairs and perspectives more visible across Europe✅ Publish your ideas on a growing platform dedicated to European affairs✅ Strengthen your writing skills and academic communication and work with dedicated editors on improving your articles✅ Be part of a diverse international team passionate about EuropeHow To Apply:Please send all required documents to hiring@europeanrelations.org with the subject line: “[Your Name] - Application Regular Contributor Ukraine Section”, including:your CVProof of English proficiency (e.g., certificate, native-level fluency, or enrolment/completion of an English-taught degree)Proof of university enrolment or degreeA pitch for your first article on a European topic from a Ukrainian perspective or of relevance for Ukraine, including a title, the article format (find more information in the Submission Guidelines), and a short outline of three to four sentences about the topic/line of argumentationA (short) writing sample (preferably on a topic concerning Europe and/or Ukraine, can be a university essay)View the job posting on the European Relations website.We value diversity and inclusion and strongly encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of ethnic, cultural, or social origin, gender, age, disability, religion, or sexual orientation.
