As a Relationship Manager in our Auto team, based in Christchurch, you’ll lead engagement across the lower South Island, building strong partnerships with automotive dealers and brokers. You’ll represent Avanti in the field, uncover new opportunities, and deliver service that sets us apart.As a Relationship Manager in the Auto team, you can expect to:Develop and execute strategies to build and maintain strong relationships with automotive dealers and other referral partners.Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the lending portfolio.Drive engagement through networking, industry events, and strategic business development initiatives.Manage and execute key account strategies to maximize value from high-priority partnerships.Plan and coordinate introducer events and promotional activities to strengthen relationships and increase brand awareness.Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing account management.Ensure all activities comply with regulatory and compliance standards.Provide market insights and competitor analysis to inform business decisions.Deliver compelling presentations and proposals to attract and retain business partners.What we are looking for in the successful candidate:Proven experience in relationship management, sales, or business development within financial services or the automotive industry.Strong influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills, confident in both one-on-one and group settings.Deep understanding of the automotive industry, dealership operations, and the challenges faced by industry partners.Knowledge of commercial lending processes, lending products, and the ability to interpret debt servicing, loan documentation, and financial calculations.Highly organised, structured, and self-motivated, with a proactive, results-driven mindset.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in financial services.A strong work ethic and commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
