Studies have examined how racism acts across several levels to shape the lived experiences of marginalized racial groups, particularly that of Black people in the United States. The research assistant will work alongside Dr. Jourdyn Lawrence to contribute to work examining how racism continues to shape the aging-related health and wellbeing of Black Americans, with specific focus on cognitive aging (e.g., preclinical indicators, measures of cognitive function, Alzheimer's disease and related dementias) Findings from this work will be used as the basis for manuscript development, grant applications, and intervention considerations.The research assistant will work closely with project PI to develop materials for a systematic review on cognitive outcomes and determinants among marginalized communities. Additionally, there will be opportunities to compile, clean, and maintain several datasets for analysis, as well as provide assistance with data documentation and protocols. Projects under this umbrella of work include a wide range of datasets (e.g. CARDIA, HRS, MIDUS). The research assistant will also assist with or lead statistical analysis for peer-reviewed manuscripts and conference presentations and will receive co-authorship or lead authorship depending on interest.Essential FunctionsCompile, clean, and mantain datasets for analysisStatistical analyses for presentations and manuscriptsConduct literature review and manage reference manager softwareProduce data documentation and protocolIRB protocol workCo-writing manuscript with PIs for publicationRequired QualificationsMinimum of a Master's Degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Analytics, or Social EpidemiologyMinimum of At least one year.Physical DemandsTypically sitting at a desk/tableLocationHybrid/Flexible Work ArrangementAdditional InformationThis is a Part-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt.
