The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join a multidisciplinary team conducting a large-scale epidemiological study on long-term respiratory sequelae following acute infections. This project will leverage linked datasets to quantify incidence, identify risk factors, and develop predictive models for post-infectious respiratory conditions such as bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, and chronic respiratory failure. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research with direct implications for clinical practice and public health policy.General DutiesData Management & AnalysisExtract, clean, and link large administrative datasets (hospitalizations, physician claims, drug files, laboratory results).Develop and validate case identification algorithms for post-infectious respiratory conditions.Perform advanced statistical analyses including propensity score matching, survival analysis (Cox/Fine-Gray models), and risk prediction modeling.Research & ReportingPrepare descriptive and inferential reports, tables, and visualizations following STROBE guidelines.Assist in drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.Collaboration & Knowledge TranslationWork closely with clinicians, epidemiologists, and data scientists.Support stakeholder engagement activities and knowledge translation outputs (policy briefs, presentations).Website of the organizationhttps://rimuhc.ca/enEducation / ExperienceEducation: Doctorate DegreeField of Study: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related fieldWork Experience: 1-2 yrsRequired Skills Proficiency in statistical software (SAS, R, or STATA) and experience with large health administrative datasets, Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding and case definition algorithms, Familiarity with survival analysis, propensity score methods, and predictive modeling, Prior work with administrative health data or chronic disease surveillance is an asset, Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French proficiency an asset), Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.Additional informationStatus: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek): 6 months contract, starting date flexible.Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $55,692.00 – $103,412. 40.Work Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pmWork Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul.
