Your responsibilitiesDuties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.The Cluster of Excellence “Quantum Universe” performs research to understand mass and gravity at the interface between quantum physics and cosmology. The research team includes leading scientists from mathematics, particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology at the University of Hamburg and DESY. The Collaborative Research Center 1624 “Higher Structures, Moduli Spaces and Integrability” connects the three core areas higher structures and (topological) quantum field theories, integrability of non-perturbative effects in quantum field and string theories and deformations and asymptotics of moduli spaces.The specific project is in the field of String Compactifications, String Geometry and relations to Quantum Gravity, in particular to the Swampland Program. Duties include academic services in the project named above, especially active pursuit of research in the program at an internationally competitive level, participation in the academic obligations of the group, co-supervision of students and co-organisation of seminars and workshops.Postdoctoral research associates will become members of the Quantum Universe Research School (QURS), which provides academic and key skills training, as well as career planning support. In addition, they will receive individual budgets to facilitate the attendance of summer schools and conferences, and to support other educational measures. Additional travel money for project-specific duties will be provided by the hosting research groups.
