Job DescriptionThis position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement , this position has a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary range of $59,822 to $74,785. This position has an initial appointment of 1 year with the possibility of renewal.Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.Translating Research in Elder Care (TREC) is a pan-Canadian and international program of applied research. It functions in an integrated knowledge translation or partnered model. We have long standing relationships with stakeholders, end users, policy makers, and our citizen advisory group.Reporting to the TREC Associate Director, the main focus of the Research Associate position will be to undertake mixed methods research and, in particular, advanced qualitative research in LTC homes. Specifically, we seek an individual who is familiar with case study methods. We have an extensive existing quantitative database and a collection of qualitative data form various studies.Specific aims will include: (1) conducting a series of case studies in LTC homes exploring factors that determine patterns of work environment at the tails of our distribution, (2) connecting the findings of the case studies to existing multi-form data, and (3) participating in including leading scientific outputs and reports for the LTC system.ResponsibilitiesThe main responsibilities of the Research Associate will include: Developing and carrying out case study research in LTC homes Coordinating and executing research project work plans and timelines. Writing research grant proposals to secure funding for additional projects under supervision. Assisting with the ongoing growth and development of the projects. Preparing and submitting conference abstracts and manuscripts under supervision.
