The hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.The Research Manager is responsible to effectively and efficiently develop and manage the performance and cohesion of Vascular Research within the Concord Institute of Academic Surgery, Concord Hospital, SLHD; to manage financial, operational and human resource activities of the unit. To promote the unit at a state, national and international level, as a preferred site for quality research.To manage and conduct high quality clinical and health services research to improve health outcomes for patients, to foster local participation in translational research and promotion of evidence-based practice across multidisciplinary fields.For more information, please view the Position DescriptionIdeal CandidateAppropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant equivalent professional experience.Demonstrated experience in conducting research in a health service environment with experience in data analysis and performance reporting.Proven experience in managing clinical research units; ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve the research objectives of the unit.Sound understanding of research, ethics and governance processes; Experience in preparing, submitting and managing research applications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to negotiate, conduct presentations and resolve conflicts effectively.Experience in project/research management, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines within scheduled timeframes and allocated budgets.Proficiency in a range of computer application systems including Microsoft Office applications, literature databases and electronic data capture systems.Benefits and Perks!Paid Parental Leave & Annual Leave loading.Opportunity for extra tax savings through Salary Packaging and Novated Leasing.
