Chimurenga Researcher/Producer at ChimurengaDeadline:05 December 2025 Region:Cape Town Type of employment:Part time Job DescriptionLocation: Chimurenga Factory, 157 Victoria Road, Woodstock, Cape Town Hours: Part-time [3 days per week] Contract Duration: 1 year [including a 3-month interim period]We are seeking a dynamic Researcher/Producer to support the research and production of Chimurenga’s editorial and curatorial projects. This role will contribute to the creation of publications, live and broadcast events, installations, and ongoing programmes.The ideal candidate is a skilled researcher and creative producer.Roles and ResponsibilitiesEditorial and Print ProductionSupport the planning, research and production of editorial projects.Create and implement design/layout (DTP) for editorial and commercial projects from conception to final print stages, as directed by the Publisher/Editor.Ensure that all editorial production timelines and quality standards are met.Manage quality control and coordination with external service providers (designers, printers, and manufacturers).Pan African Space Station (PASS)Research and source contributors and content for PASS programmes.Participate in the production, broadcasting and documentation of live events.Contribute to the editing, formatting and archiving of PASS recordings. Chimurenga LibraryDevelop and contribute to research for ongoing editorial and curatorial projectsSupport the maintenance and organisation of Chimurenga’s physical and digital libraries.GeneralParticipate in Chimurenga team meetings.Contribute to the upkeep and organisation of workspaces and equipment.Assist in updating Chimurenga’s website and social media channels.Liaise with project partners, contributors [individuals & institutions].Support the production of in-house and external Chimurenga events.Qualifications And RequirementsStrong research and writing skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Experience in editorial production, cultural programming, or arts administration.Competence in design/layout (DTP) and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent software.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.Flexibility, curiosity and a willingness to engage with experimental and interdisciplinary projects.How to applyPlease send your CV, a cover letter outlining your interest and relevant experience, and two samples of your work (writing, research, or production-related) to admin@chimurenga.co.za by 5 December.Keep #NGOJobsBoard thriving: Tell employers you found their listing on Hashtag Nonprofit!Date posted:13 November 2025 Back to #NGOJobsBoard
