The role involves assisting the Security Project Manager in the delivery of multiple physical security projects (fencing, windows, doors, and electronic security) across the Midlands.The Security team is responsible for management of the physical security across our commercial buildings and operational sites at national level including delivering all capital security upgrades and maintenance activities.Reporting to the Security Projects Manager, the Security Project Engineer is responsible for the project management support across all physical security programs including– Electronic security programs (CCTV, IDS), physical upgrade programs (Fencing and security doors) and access control programs.Key Duties and Responsibilities:The successful candidate will, amongst other things, be responsible for:Supporting the Security Projects Manager and wider security team to ensure key milestones and project deliverables are met on time and in budget.Developing project plans and delivery schedules.Managing contractor delivery - overseeing health and safety, site supervision and commissioning. Working with the Security Projects Manager and engaging with third-party resources to deliver the security program portfolio from project conception, design and installation through to commissioning and handover.Assisting with delivery CAPEX budgets and identifying and managing any risks to budgets ensuring necessary approvals. Assisting the Security Projects Manager with liaison with the Regional Operational teams to ensure that technical security services in the region meet the demands of the business. Ensuring all HSQE requirements are in place including Safety Statements, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and permits for all project works.Implementing technical training and development plans for current and future needs. Developing Project Metrics/KPIs and reporting on a monthly basis. Developing, standardizing and implementing procedures, processes and specifications.Ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements. Attending meetings with Senior Management / Regional Managers and acting as point of contact for escalation. Other duties as required.Key Requirements:Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience. Experience managing a team, change management and conflict resolution skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally. Proven track record in dealing with complex issues proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others. Highly motivated individual working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and implement solutions. Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements. Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
