One of the global leaders in sports shoes, at their facility in the Liège (Luik) region of Belgium.As a Resident Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Packsize equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You will also conduct start-up testing, provide end-user training, and serve as a key technical point of contact for the customer.This position requires a creative problem-solver with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. You’ll also need excellent communication skills to explain product features and maintenance procedures to a variety of stakeholders.What You’ll DoInstall, configure, and commission automated packaging systems at the customer sitePerform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs on mechanical, electrical, and software componentsProvide hands-on training to customer personnel on equipment operation, safety procedures, and routine maintenanceMonitor, manage, and report on spare parts usage and stock levels to ensure service readinessRespond promptly to technical issues and service requests, minimizing equipment downtimeDocument service activities, findings, and solutions in a clear and timely mannerMaintain regular communication with internal teams (engineering, product support, customer service) to share insights and improve system performanceContribute to the creation and improvement of technical documentation, training materials, and service manualsWhat You’ll BringElectrically qualified professional with over 5 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining complex electro-mechanical systems, backed by a strong electromechanical backgroundStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset.Skilled in the use of mechanical and electrical hand tools; able to read technical schematics and wiring diagramsHands-on experience with mechanical systems, automation, and/or packaging technology is a strong plusComfortable working independently, managing your own time and tasks with minimal supervisionFamiliar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with reporting tools or service software is a bonusFluent in Dutch or French; able to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written)Based in or near the Liège/Luik regionWhat’s Nice To HavePrevious experience as a Resident Engineer or in a customer-facing field service roleFamiliarity with automated packaging systems or industrial automation equipmentBasic knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens or Allen-Bradley) and industrial sensorsExperience with technical documentation, reporting, or digital service toolsValid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally for training or supportPacksize is an Equal Opportunity employer and is committed to diversity in its workforce.
