Your expertise will directly influence the success of mission-critical IT projects, ensuring robust, reliable, and high-performing solutions. You’ll bridge business, technical teams, and users — making sure every release meets the highest standards and delivers real value. The stakes are high: your work will impact thousands of users and set the benchmark for quality across the organization.What You’ll Be DoingAnalyze functional requirements and identify risks, translating them into structured, actionable test scenarios and cases.Define and implement a test approach aligned with the overall test strategy, collaborating closely with senior test analysts and project managers.Drive the preparation and execution of manual and automated tests across multiple test levels, ensuring comprehensive coverage and prioritization.Validate software quality by analyzing CI/CD results and functionally reviewing deliveries to assess test coverage and product quality.Track deviations, identify inefficiencies, and proactively propose improvements to processes and product quality.Communicate test results and recommendations clearly and transparently to stakeholders and test coordinators.Maintain accurate test documentation, process descriptions, and use cases.Act as a connector between business, technical teams, and users, advocating for the value of robust test cases and influencing requirements through static reviews.Coach and guide junior testers, fostering a culture of quality, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.Technical SkillsMinimum 7 years of experience in a similar roleThorough knowledge of test methodologies, tasks, and processesISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification (a plus)Experience with test management tools (e.g., Testlink, Zephyr)Experience with issue and project management tools (e.g., Jira)Experience with content collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence)Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Cypress, JUnit5)Basic knowledge of development practices and test paradigms (e.g., CI, TDD)Basic knowledge of UML, Java, SQL, and version control (git/svn)Language ProficiencyFluent in Dutch and French (required)Active knowledge of EnglishOther RequirementsStrong relationship-building and communication skillsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsDemonstrated ownership, problem-solving, and impact-driven mindsetAbility to work hybrid (on-site and remote)This is a freelance position with a fixed project duration from as soon as possible until 31/12/2026 (14 months), based in Brussels with hybrid work options.
