Risk and Compliance Officer Financial ServicesLocation: Cape TownWe’re looking for a sharp, detail-driven Risk and Compliance Officer to help strengthen our Risk & Compliance framework in South Africa. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that the firm’s operations align with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, PAIA, and CISCA requirements — while partnering closely with Group and local stakeholders to keep controls both compliant and practical.What You’ll DoDeliver independent, risk-based reviews and assurance aligned with Group standards.Lead and execute compliance monitoring plans, identifying gaps and recommending practical, risk-aware solutions.Track remediation actions to closure and minimise repeat findings.Support the FICA Compliance Officer and MLRO on monitoring, reporting, and RMCP testing.Oversee FAIS, POPIA, and PAIA monitoring — from conduct and disclosure to data protection and access to information compliance.Prepare concise, high-quality management information and submissions for governance forums and regulators.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Law, Commerce, Risk, or a related field (as per FSCA’s approved list).Compliance Institute SA CPrac(SA) (or in progress) strongly preferred; CProf(SA), AML, or privacy certifications advantageous.RE1 and RE3 required.3–5+ years’ experience in a second-line monitoring role within a South African Category I and II FSP, covering FAIS, CISCA, FICA, and POPIA/PAIA.Investment and fiduciary/trust experience preferred.Familiarity with the upcoming COFI Bill an advantage.This role suits someone who thrives on independence, accuracy, and impact — translating complex regulation into confident, business-savvy action.
