Job PurposeJoin our dynamic team at Pepkor Lifestyle as a Risk Officer, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our retail operations. You will conduct investigations, risk audits, and security assessments to ensure compliance with company policies, proactively identifying and mitigating risks such as theft, fraud, and operational failures. Collaborating with the Risk Manager, you will implement robust risk controls, enhance store security, and minimize financial losses, all while fostering a customer-centric environment. Key Performance Areas: Investigations & Incident Response:
Conduct thorough investigations into incidents like theft, fraud, and policy violations, gathering evidence and collaborating with law enforcement and internal teams. Site Audits & Compliance Checks: Perform risk-based audits, identify control weaknesses, and ensure adherence to company policies, cash-handling and stock control measures. Loss Prevention & Risk Mitigation: Develop strategies to reduce shrinkage, implement security measures, and train teams on risk awareness and fraud prevention. Security Oversight & Support: Assess store security, respond to breaches, and ensure effective physical security measures (e. g. , guards, cameras, alarms). Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records and provide insightful reports to the Risk Manager on risk trends and mitigation efforts. Customer-Centric Service: Champion customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and promoting a customer-focused culture. Self-Management & Teamwork: Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and commitment to team objectives while driving personal development. Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum Qualification: At least 3 years of branch management experience in a retail setting. A diploma or degree in Risk Management, Security Management, Forensic Investigation, or a related field is advantageous. Experience: 2+ years in risk management, auditing, investigations, or security in a retail environment. Experience with law enforcement or forensic investigations is a plus.
