Description:The RTR Junior Accountant contributes to the success of M&C Saatchi Group by ensuring operational finance and exceptional accounting services in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The contribution of the role to the success of the Finance team is through the provision of exceptional service and accounting support to our agencies, enabling them to manage the financial aspects of their business.The purpose of the RTR Junior Accountant role is to assist the Senior Accountant with the day to day financial accounting and reporting duties for the Agencies within M&C Saatchi Group. The role works under the guidance of and provides support and assistance to the Senior Accountant. The role is also responsible for engaging and partnering closely with key stakeholders across the business and within the Finance team on a daily basis.Integrity of the financial information is paramount. The role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure the financial reporting meets the audit assertions and accounting standards.ResponsibilitiesFINANCIAL (80%)Ensure transactions recorded are technically compliantEnsure compliance with group accounting policies, internal controls and processesPreparation of month end reports including but not limited to;bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliationsfortnightly review of general ledgers, preparation of prepayments and accruals schedulesupdating and maintaining the Fixed Asset register and preparing journalsgeneral journal posting within timelinesIntercompany invoicing, confirmations and reconciliationsAssistance with preparation of monthly management accountsAssistance with year-end budget analysisAssistance with preparation of mthly/quarterly; BAS, Payroll Tax and FBTSupport the preparation of additional requests that come from M&C Plc (Group)Ad hoc requests to support the Senior AccountantBalance sheet ReconciliationSYSTEMS AND PROCESSES(15%)Providing feedback and assistance on process documentationSuggest process improvements to drive efficiency within the team/businessPEOPLE (5%) Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Finance team & AgenciesParticipate and attend team meetingsATTRIBUTESPositive and proactive, with a passion for excellence and a willingness to go over and aboveSolutions focused, identifying not only the issues but the potential solves as wellLives and breathes our values, incorporating them into everyday behavioursSkillsAbility to meet deadlines under pressure and work as a team playerGood interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detailGood base level technical, reporting and taxation knowledgeProficiency in excel desirableFlexible and adaptable attitude amidst an environment of constant changeAbility to work flexible hours will be preferableEducation & ExperienceAccounting Degree ( post graduate /honours in accounting will be beneficial)Experience using financial ERP systems, Spectra PF (BCC) would be favourable> 3 years work experience in similar roleExperience in Advertising & Media would be favourableExperience working in a shared service environment is desirableM+C Saatchi Group was founded in 1995 and is now the biggest Independent creative agency group in the World.
