RWE Renewables Denmark A/STo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentRWE are looking for an aspiring HSE professional to support the operation of our Thor Offshore wind farm. We are looking for someone who is keen to be part of a team that is determined to ensuring continuous improvement and working closely with operational teams, the role will be onshore based but will require travel offshore to the operational offshore environment. This is a great opportunity for someone already in the industry or with experience in other high-risk sectors who wants to join renewable energy.

Responsibilities of the role are to support the Thor offshore windfarm in its operational phase. As the windfarm is fully operational in 2027 the focus of the first months is to prepare the operation of the windfarm with relevant HSE documentation, concepts and standards. About the role:

The HSE Specialist is responsible for providing joint, expert and professional advice and guidance to the site management on all health, safety and environmental issues, actively participate in and promoting a high standard of health, safety and environmental awareness and culture at the operational offshore wind farm ThorSupport the site Team in implementing high standards of proactive and continual improvement ‘We Care’ ethos, including initiatives in behavioural safety, wellbeing and sustainability to ensure a positive impact on the team membersEngage and develop relationships with teams to eliminate and reduce risks, develop HSE culture for the site Team and adhere to HSE standards and rulesProduce, review and update health, safety and environmental-related documentation required by the allocated site Team as directed by the Head of HSE Offshore Operations and Team Lead HSE Offshore Operations Continental Europe (CE) or required by the HSE functionMaintenance of HSE risk registers in relation to Thor.

Ensuring Danish legal HSE requirements are considered, amongst other by liaising with the regulatory authorities, and compliance is evaluated on a regular basisContribute towards and deliver on annual key performance indicators, annual We Care goals and targets for the site Team and wider businessCarry out regular workplace inspections on and offshorePlanning, running and recording feedback on emergency response drillsJob requirements and experience:

Degree in Health and Safety related discipline, engineering/safety engineering or similar and minimum 5 years’ experience as HSE professional, especially in Offshore Wind, energy or oil and gas sectorsThe ideal candidate will have a higher safety qualification and would be beneficial if they also hold a higher qualification level in an environmental disciplinie and experience in holding an audit qualification such as ISO 45 001 / 14 001 internal auditor, along with an Incident root cause analysis qualificationYou have experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a certifiable HSE Management System and if you have Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training certification that would be beneficialTeam-oriented, consistent, systematic, customer-orientated and you are able to display a flexible, practical and forward-thinking approach to managing operational HSE mattersAbility to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels through verbal and written communication including effective listening skillsGood health, with general all round fitness to work in an offshore environment including working at height with the ability to undertake the mandatory medical checks and tests according to legal requirementsOccasional international travel will be expected in this role, this includes trips to other RWE windfarms to ensure alignment and cooperation (driving license is essential)Very good written and spoken Danish and English are required, further foreign languages are helpfulIn this role you role will be based on the site office at Thorsminde with the possibility to conduct mobile work or home office on 1-2 days per week.

RWE is developing the largest offshore windfarm in Denmark to date, Thor, which will be built 22 kilometers off the coast of Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland with a capacity of more than 1 GW. 72 units of Siemens Gamesa’s flagship SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines are planned to be installed.
