As an Assistant General Manager at Ryerson, you will be responsible for advising the GM on strategic business development initiatives, performance objectives, and improvement opportunities that impact the operations and profitability of the Company.

Roles And ResponsibilitiesWorks with GM to meet regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actionsEstablishes Region sales objectives and business plans that support corporate objectives by creating sales plans, quotas, and budgets in assigned geographic locations based on developments in the marketplace, sales trends, competition, and business opportunitiesSupports and encourages quality, service, and safety objectives, strategies, and goals that reflect the Company’s values, vision, and capabilities for Service Centers within the Multi-Market; ensures alignment with corporate objectivesIdentify and act on customer needs and sales trends, developments in the marketplace, competition, and business opportunities; communicate observations with the General ManagerMaintains and expands customer base by counseling district sales representatives, building and maintaining rapport with key customers, and identifying new customer opportunitiesDevelops and maintains positive employee relations by performing all functions of personnel management in accordance with Company policies.

Identifies developmental and training needs, as well as coaches and mentors employees. As needed, provide constructive feedback to direct and indirect reportsAll other duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor’s Degree Preferred3-5 years of sales experience is required.
