CSA Mine is currently searching for a Safety Advisor to join our team. You will work in one of the world’s most iconic mining districts, which has the second highest grade copper mine in the country.Reporting to the Health, Safety & Emergency Superintendent, you will be responsible for offering leadership, coaching, and compliance advice on operational safety and risk processes.You will be a driving force in upholding our already exceptional safety culture, leading & encouraging our staff to participate in all facets of safety initiatives.This is certainly not a desk-bound job; we need someone who will actively engage with our workforce, connecting with employees at all levels to drive positive change in our safety culture. You will be passionate about creating a safer work environment, and take a hands-on approach with our workforce.About the Role:Drive the development and implementation of pragmatic and productive safety initiatives in consultation with site leadership and management teamsConduct incident investigations and risk assessments as requiredMonitor compliance of safety systems and procedures through auditing, inspections and observationsKeep up to date with legislative changes and recommend actions to ensure compliance is maintainedAnalyse safety performance and drive a safety culture by developing frontline leaders in and safetyCoach supervisors, operators and safety personnel in the application of safety systems & proceduresLeading by example, setting clear expectations, reviewing work regularly and providing meaningful feedbackAbout youStrong foundation in risk assessment, hazard identification and regulatory complianceExcellent communication skills and an unwavering commitment to fostering a safety first culture within our businessCertificate IV WHS or equivalentCurrent Australian Manual Drivers LicenceExperience in industrial/mining safety environment (desirable)Underground mining experience (desirable)ICAM certification and experienceWorking knowledge of WHS legislationExceptional time management and computer skillsConditions: Drive-in drive out (DIDO) or fly-in-fly out (FIFO) from Sydney or Brisbane (direct charter) on a 8/6 roster. Candidates interested in DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp.
