Our ORR team in El Paso, TX is searching for a Safety Coordinator to support our kids during their journey to empowered lives.About OrrThe mission of CPLC's Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is to promote the health, well-being, and stability of refugees, unaccompanied alien children, and other eligible individuals and families, through culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services. Our vision is for all new arrivals to be welcomed with equitable, high-quality services and resources so they can maximize their potential.HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?You oversee the safety of the facility, taking responsibility for the safety of clients in a residential housing facility, which includes ensuring consistent implementation of program procedures, organization, and management of data and related documentation. You promote a work environment conducive to safety and effective communication, collaboration, team building and professionalism. You also promote collaborations and partnerships with other departments to provide a comprehensive continuum of services to clients. Coordinate and oversee safety operations including scheduling, emergency evacuations, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance and security within the facility.This may include traveling with clients and staff (ex.: remaining with client on hospital trips, evacuations)Serve as liaison and communicator between Youth Care Workers, Case Managers, and Clinical Teams to address behavioral, social, and recreational issues and report warning signs in clients.Supervise safety monitors and maintain a safe environment for clients in residential housing, ensuring adherence to organizational procedures and protocols.Develop and maintain safety documentation and data reporting to track program results, while supporting other operational needs such as medical coordination and client accompaniment when required.WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT SAFETY COORDINATOR?Your experience. You have safety, risk and/or security experience that makes you a trusted team member. You have worked in shelters, residential and social services settings before.You are trauma-informed and see others potential. You understand that trauma is very real. You never blame a child, "What's WRONG with you?" Instead you seek out "what is STRONG" in each child.Effective and professional under pressure. You have experience handling crises, you are able to guide others during emergencies, and you are an expert in sensitive, confidential, high-stress situations.You value inclusion of all backgrounds and cultures. You are genuinely committed to working with diverse communities and create a welcoming space for anyone seeking safety.Minimum QualificationsMust be 21 years of age or older. Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in security or related field preferred. Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance card, CPR, CPI and First Aid Certifications. Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish required.Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
