Applications are invited for the position of Portfolio Manager in the Wealth Management and Operations department. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager. Job SummaryThe Portfolio Manager – Wealth Management is responsible for the investment management of the company’s proprietary mutual funds, discretionary and non-discretionary managed portfolios (both onshore and offshore), and customized investment mandates for Wealth Management clients. Key Duties And Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Research Manage Sagicor Investments’ (SITTL) suite of mutual funds and ensure strategies remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with fund objectives.
Provide investment recommendations and pricing across asset classes, including local and international fixed income securities, equities, money market instruments, and structured products to support portfolio construction, client mandates, and trading strategies. Construct and manage local and international managed portfolios for high-net-worth (HNW), ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW), and institutional clients in keeping with their Investment Policy Statements (IPS) and risk profiles. Conduct ongoing market, sector, and security analysis (local, regional, international) to inform asset allocation, security selection, and tactical positioning. Perform portfolio rebalancing, performance attribution, and risk-adjusted return analysis against appropriate benchmarks.
Prepare periodic market outlooks and investment strategy updates for internal and client communication. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Partner with WMAs to deliver tailored investment solutions and participate in select client meetings to articulate portfolio strategies and performance. Prepare and review quarterly performance reports and client statements, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance. Support the design and promotion of new portfolio offerings (e. g. , ESG, thematic, or income-focused strategies) based on client demand and market trends. Maintain strong relationships with internal teams (Treasury, Research, Compliance, Operations) to ensure seamless execution of investment strategies.
Risk & Compliance Ensure investment activities comply with TTSEC, CBTT, FATCA/AML/CFT regulations, and internal investment mandates. Monitor portfolios for adherence to IPS, investment restrictions, and concentration limits. Document investment decisions, rationale, and approvals in line with internal governance frameworks. Actively monitor and mitigate risks, including interest rate, credit, liquidity, and FX risks, while optimizing returns. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Track portfolio performance against benchmarks and peers, producing timely internal reports for senior management. Develop dashboards and tools to measure performance, pipeline growth, and client allocation trends.
Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure accurate NAV calculation, fund pricing, and settlement processes. Strategic Initiatives Contribute to the growth of SITTL’s AUM through innovation in product design, competitive fund positioning, and bespoke portfolio solutions. Provide training and technical support to WMAs and Client Services Officers on investment products, strategies, and market developments. Participate in thought leadership initiatives, including articles, webinars, and seminars, representing SITTL as a market leader in Wealth Management. Education/Experience KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline (Master’s degree an asset).
CFA designation (or candidate at Level II/III) strongly preferred. Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in investment/portfolio management, with proven expertise in multi-asset class portfolios (equities, fixed income, alternatives, FX). Demonstrated experience managing mutual funds and/or HNW/UHNW client portfolios in a regulated environment. Strong knowledge of Trinidad & Tobago’s capital markets, regional instruments, and international investment products. Familiarity with TTSEC, CBTT, FATCA, AML/CFT, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Intermediate proficiency with Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Excel, and portfolio management systems.
