Job Description

The Sales Manager (Proactive Sales) will be responsible for leading market expansion and driving new business opportunities for JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa, while maintaining the resort’s luxury positioning and revenue performance standards. This role will focus on securing incremental business volume through proactive account development, market penetration, and strategic sales initiatives, with an emphasis on achieving high ADR and RevPAR results. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales to implement strategies that strengthen the property’s competitive positioning in both domestic and international markets.Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Develop and execute proactive sales strategies in alignment with the resort’s business goals and luxury positioning.Identify, target, and secure new market opportunities to expand the resort’s client base across domestic and international markets.Lead business development efforts in MICE, corporate incentive, and catering group segments to drive incremental room nights and revenue.Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts and business partners to ensure sustained revenue growth.Collaborate with the Director of Sales to design and implement sales plans that maximize ADR and RevPAR performance.Prepare accurate business reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to support data-driven decision-making.Represent JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa at trade shows, client events, and sales missions to strengthen brand presence and client engagement.Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Revenue Management, and Operations teams to ensure cohesive strategy execution and guest satisfaction.Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to anticipate opportunities and challenges.Uphold JW Marriott’s standards of excellence and luxury service in all client interactions and business activities.Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry, preferably within the luxury hotel segment.Strong background in proactive sales, market expansion, and strategic account management.Proven track record of delivering high ADR, RevPAR, and overall revenue growth.Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with strong business acumen.Fluency in Korean and proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.Based in Seoul with full flexibility for travel to Jeju and international destinations as needed.High level of professionalism, initiative, and self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Commitment to completing a mandatory minimum two-month on-property immersion and training at JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa.
