Sales Manager (Medical Devices)Location: Dublin, Ireland (nationwide coverage, Office/field-based)Type: Full-time, PermanentReports to: Managing DirectorOur client is a dynamic and rapidly growing medical distribution company headquartered in Dublin, dedicated to delivering high-quality medical devices, consumables, and exceptional service to healthcare providers across the Island of Ireland. The organisation is renowned for its commitment to outstanding customer service, operational excellence, and the cultivation of strong, enduring relationships with both customers and suppliers.With an ambitious growth vision for the next five years, the company is seeking a driven Sales Manager to lead its sales function and spearhead commercial expansion. This strategic role will focus on enhancing commercial performance, leading and developing the sales team, fostering a culture of coaching and mentoring, and driving business development initiatives. A key responsibility will also include the acquisition and management of new supplier partnerships to support the company’s continued growth and market leadership.Role/ Responsibilities:The Sales Manager will assume responsibility for leading, managing, and expanding the company’s sales operations and gross margin across Ireland. This pivotal role demands a blend of strategic vision, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive, hands-on approach to business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding and motivating the sales team to achieve and exceed ambitious revenue and growth targets, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategic objectives.Develop and execute sales strategies to deliver the company vision.Delivers inspiring leadership to motivate, manage and mentor the sales team creating a high-performance environment that drives performance.Identify and secure new business opportunities within public & private hospitals and other healthcare providers.Develop, implement and monitor clear performance standards for the sales team as part of a performance management program conducting regular performance and business reviews.Optimise the company’s return from NI & ROI tenders by anticipating, influencing, sourcing and managing tender submissionsResponsible for driving business development & expansion into new market segments by targeting and securing new suppliers for our client to represent in the Irish marketplaceKey role in optimising supplier relationships to drive performance & identify key areas for strategic growth - including supplier business reviews, liaising on training & marketing requirementsBuilds mutually profitable relationships with key influencers (Clinical & procurement).Develops a complete and thorough understanding of the relevant portfolios, product value propositions, customer sectors and market dynamics sufficient to enable effective identification of new business opportunitiesMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform sales strategy.Deliver accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and concise insightful performance reports as required.Collaborate with business partners at group level, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer support.Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, procurement frameworks, and company policies.Education/Experience:Proven track record in sales management/leadership within the medical devices, medical consumables or healthcare sector essential.Inspiring leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Previous experience in leading tender bids, business development through new supplier acquisition and targeting/successfully expanding into new segments/categoriesCommercially astute, with the ability to analyse sales data/market insights and develop/present concise business cases.Flexibility to travel nationwide as required with some international travel required.In depth Knowledge of the Irish healthcare system and procurement processes is highly desirable.Great Attitude, strong integrity, authentic, highly persuasive and very competitive.Steady and reliable - high emotional intelligence with strong empathy and a compassionate leadership s.Highly organised with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks & deadlines simultaneously.Results-driven, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset and an excellent collaboratorWhat’s on OfferCompetitive salary with performance-related bonus.Membership of company pension plan with death in service benefitCompany car / allowance, laptop, and phone.Long term incentive planMentoring and coaching development planOpportunity to shape strategy in a growing businessFriendly, supportive and collaborative work environment.Career development opportunitiesFor further information please contact Karen Shiel in confidence on: 087 745 2487 or send CV to karen.shiel@lifescience.ie
