Our client is Ireland’s leading weekly publication for industrial/employment relations practitioners, HR professionals and employment law specialists, particularly within unionised organisations, government departments, and trade unions. For over 40 years, they have provided in-depth, reliable business information and expert analysis on employment law, workplace relations and HR policy developments.They operate primarily on a subscription and business information model with minimal advertising. In addition to the publication,our client hosts an annual Industrial Relations Conference, a flagship event that brings together senior HR professionals, legal experts, civil servants, academics and union representatives from across Ireland. Due to some internal changes, they are now looking for an experienced sales executive to join their team.Role OverviewThe Sales Executive will be responsible for driving subscription revenue growth, managing client relationships, and supporting the continued success of the annual conference. The role combines subscription and business development sales with event management and relationship marketing.This is a hands-on commercial role suited to a professional who is proactive, organised, and comfortable engaging with senior HR and industrial relations stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentManage and grow the portfolio of subscription clients, including renewals and new business.Identify and engage prospective clients within target sectors (public service, trade unions, semi-state bodies, large private employers, legal and HR consultancies).Develop tailored proposals and presentations to promote business information services.Maintain accurate CRM records, track leads, and report on sales performance.Build long-term relationships with HR professionals, industrial relations experts, and institutional clients.Conference & Event ManagementAssist with the planning and delivery of the annual Industrial Relations Conference, which represents approximately one quarter of the annual workload.Manage all logistical and commercial aspects of the event, including venue liaison, delegate management, sponsorship opportunities, speaker coordination, and marketing communications.Work with editorial and management teams to ensure high-quality programme content and delegate experience.Marketing & Client EngagementSupport marketing campaigns for subscriptions and conference promotion (email, LinkedIn, website updates, etc.).Collaborate with editorial staff to identify content or topical developments that may drive subscription interest.Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.Skills & Experience RequiredProven experience in B2B sales, preferably in publishing, business information, events, or professional services.Strong organisational and project management skills — especially for planning and delivering professional events.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging senior-level professionals.A proactive, self-motivated approach and ability to manage multiple priorities.Experience with CRM tools, subscription systems, and Microsoft Office suite.Familiarity with HR, industrial relations, or employment law sectors (advantageous but not essential).Personal AttributesProfessional, credible, and client-focused.Collaborative, with the ability to work closely with small editorial and administrative teams.Commercially minded with attention to detail.Comfortable balancing sales targets with relationship-building in a specialised professional market.
