Two fixed-term positions available at Groenkloof National Park.About The SANParks EPWP Environmental Monitors Programme 2025The South African National Parks (SANParks), through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), invites applications for two Skilled Environmental Monitor positions at Groenkloof National Park. These positions offer candidates the chance to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the preservation and maintenance of South Africa’s protected natural heritage.This is a fixed-term contract opportunity running until 31 March 2026, with a daily wage rate of R311.00 in line with EPWP standards. The programme aims to provide work opportunities while enhancing environmental awareness and operational efficiency within SANParks.Minimum RequirementsTo be considered for the Environmental Monitor role, applicants must meet the following criteria:Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.1 to 2 years of cleaning experience.Stock taking experience will be advantageous.Knowledge of First Aid and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles.Understanding of good hygiene practices.Must be punctual, neat, and responsible.Ability to work under pressure.Must comply with OHS regulations at all times.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilitiesSuccessful applicants will perform various operational and maintenance tasks to support environmental and facility management at Groenkloof National Park. Responsibilities include:Performing daily cleaning duties in offices, ablutions, receptions, passages, and open areas.Preparing boardrooms and meeting venues and arranging refreshments.Reporting abnormalities and ensuring corrective action is taken.Handling lost property according to SANParks procedures.Emptying and transporting waste to designated collection points.Controlling and maintaining cleaning materials and stock levels.Maintaining high cleaning standards throughout the park facilities.Assisting during emergencies and performing relief duties as requested.Replenishing consumable items such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.Supporting stock issuing, receiving, and participating in stock-taking.Performing other ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors.Employment DetailsPosition Type: Fixed-Term ContractDuration: Until 31 March 2026Location: Groenkloof National ParkNumber of Positions: 2 (Skilled Environmental Monitors)Daily Wage: R311.00 (EPWP rates)How to ApplyInterested and qualified candidates should submit their applications, including the required supporting documents, to the following:Email: molatelo.maupi@sanparks.orgPostal AddressSouth African National ParksP.O.
