Job DescriptionSAP Basis ConsultantJob SummaryThe SAP Basis Consultant is responsible for the administration, installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, and support of the SAP landscape. The role ensures system stability, performance, and security across SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP integrations, SAP Solution Manager, and other SAP components deployed in the customer environment.Key Process & Technical KnowledgeThe Consultant Should Have Strong Knowledge InSAP System AdministrationSAP S/4HANA and NetWeaver administrationSAP Solution Manager (ChaRM, Monitoring, ITSM)SAP Fiori and Gateway configurationSAP HANA Database AdministrationSystem Landscape & ArchitectureSAP landscape strategy (Development, QA, Production, Sandbox)Transport management, CTS+, and change controlHigh availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) setupCloud and hybrid hosting modelsSecurity & ComplianceUser administration and role management (with GRC alignment)System security, patching, and vulnerability managementSupport for audit & compliance controls (SOX, GDPR, ISO, SAMA)Performance & MonitoringProactive monitoring, health checks, and system tuningEarly Watch reports and Solution Manager monitoringRoot cause analysis for system performance issuesUpgrades & MigrationsSAP kernel and Support Package upgradesS/4HANA upgrades and conversion projectsOS/DB migrations and cloud migration experienceKey ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain SAP systems and HANA databasesManage system copies, refreshes, and client strategyImplement transport management and change control proceduresEnsure system availability, high performance, and scalabilityMonitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, RFCs, interfaces, and spool issuesWork closely with functional and technical teams during implementations and upgradesSupport disaster recovery planning and testingImplement security patches, system hardening, and compliance requirementsProvide ongoing production support and root cause analysis for incidentsDocument and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalentSAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA / SAP Basis AdministrationExperience5+ years of experience in SAP Basis and HANA administrationHands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA DBExperience in system installations, upgrades, and migrationsStrong experience with transport management and CTS+Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, SAP RISE) is a plusTechnical SkillsSAP HANA administration and performance tuningLinux/Unix OS administrationDatabase backup and recovery strategiesStrong troubleshooting skills for SAP kernel, ABAP/JAVA stackSoft SkillsStrong communication and collaboration with IT infra and SAP teamsAbility to work in mission-critical production supportProblem-solving and structured documentation skillsAbility to work under pressure in tight project timelinesAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
