Job Title: SC Cleared Senior Network EngineerLocation: PortsmouthDuration: 6 months with possible extensionRate: Market rates via an approved umbrella companyThe RoleAs a Senior Network Engineer, you will join our team supporting our client and their customers. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on IT and networking experience who enjoys solving problems, learning new skills, and contributing to critical projects. You'll work in an ITIL-based environment supporting multiple projects across different layers, delivering technical outputs that ensure secure, efficient transfer of data and the delivery of key communications and network systems. The role will be delivering network solutions that provide critical services for our customers.Day-to-day, you'll be investigating and resolving technical issues, supporting multiple projects across different layers of the network, and ensuring the secure transfer of data for our client and their clients customers. You'll work closely with project managers and technical leads to deliver quality outputs, assist with system implementations. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, develop processes, and support the team by sharing knowledge, providing practical solutions, and help maintain high standards.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeInvestigate and resolve technical issues across existing networks and systemsSupport multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of technical outputsImplement and configure new systems and solutionsEssential Experience Of The Senior Network EngineerHands-on experience in networking, IT and communications.Experience 5+ years as a networking engineer in an IT departmentSupport an existing Juniper SRX based network with cyber patches/issue investigation as and when needed (using VPNs, VLANS, within ESXi server environment).Certificate based VPN experience would be advantageous.Understanding of Microsoft, Windows, Linux, Juniper or coding environments would be advantageousAbility to investigate problems and provide solutions to complex network issuesProfessionalism and experience in a structured IT environmentEssential Qualifications For The Senior Network EngineerDegree in engineering or equivalent IT-related experienceHands-on experience working on IT architecture or network systemsIf this is the role for you please submit your CV at your earliest convenience
