Position Start DateAs soon as possibleSalary/Wage$19. 77/hourAppointment TypeFull TimeDescriptionThe School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1. 0 FTE Teacher Assistant in the English Language Learners (ELL) Program at Central High School beginning the 2025-2026 school year. Projected start date: As soon as possible. Spanish Language Preferred, But Not Required. This position is paid at the certified TA rate. Position Responsibilities▪ Assist teachers in working with students in all subject areas. ▪ Assist teachers in instruction, preparation, and clean-up. ▪ Provide translation for teachers, other staff members, and parents. ▪ Provide Home-School liaison when necessary.

▪ Supervise students as they acquire English proficiency. ▪ Attend required district meetings. ▪ Accompany field trips as necessary. ▪ Other duties may be assigned. QualificationsRequired qualifications: ▪ High school diploma or equivalent required. ▪ Two years of education beyond high school or 48 post high school credits or Associate's degree preferred. ▪ Ability to speak, read, and write English and Spanish fluently. Fluency in additional languages is preferred. ▪ Strong computer literacy skills.
