Lead and/or be involved in a wide range of school-related extra-curricular activities. Key responsibilities Assist with the preparation of resources and chemicals for practical lessons that meet both the health and safety standards and the requirements of the classes involved. Provide general assistance in the safe storage, transit and accessibility of resources, including helping to ensure that stock levels are maintained, and future requirements are identified. Provide general assistance in ensuring the smooth running of the administrative side of the department including helping with departmental budgets, textbook issuing and spreadsheets.
Ensure a healthy, safe and productive work environment is maintained. Provide pastoral, academic and behavioural support for children per school policies and procedures. Core Activities Will Include Liaison with teaching staff to support the delivery of high-quality practical provision. Preparation of resources for practical work including making up solutions, preparing materials and assembling apparatus. Delivery, collection of, checking and returning resources to store. General laboratory housekeeping after practical work is complete, including clearing away practical resources. Assisting with routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment Assisting with stock control.
Keeping up to date with health and safety requirements, attending departmental meetings and additional training courses where required.
