As part of our client’s Science Team, you won’t just work in carbon markets — you’ll help shape how they work from the inside out. You’ll dive into emerging carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and reduction technologies, develop methodologies that turn innovation into certified climate action, and collaborate closely with the Certification and Tech teams to bring those methods to life.Your work will directly help build a high-integrity, science-backed carbon standard, influencing how new climate solutions are assessed, validated, and brought to market.You’ll work most closely with the Science Lead, as well as the Chief Product & Technical Officer and Certification Operations Lead. You value diverse perspectives and integrate feedback from multiple stakeholders.Please do not worry if you don’t meet every single point — our client values potential and is open to candidates who share a strong passion for the mission.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and Maintain Methodologies: Research and draft new carbon removal and reduction methodologies, analyze data, and prepare materials for decision-making. Design and revise methodological frameworks and help implement them through digital certification and LCA platforms.Uphold and Evolve the Standard Rules: Maintain the integrity of our client’s carbon standard by revising core rules, ensuring consistency across methodologies, and aligning with leading accreditation bodies (ICROA, ICVCM, etc.).Enable Certification at Scale: Support the Certification team by interpreting and applying methodologies to real projects, resolving edge cases, and developing internal guidance and training materials.Engage with External Stakeholders: Represent our client as a rigorous, science-based, and collaborative organization in external forums. Contribute to working groups with project developers, auditors, and experts, and help draft responses to public consultations (e.g., SBTi, CRCF).Bridge Science and Sales: Support Sales and Partnerships teams with clear, accurate explanations of methodologies and the certification system.Build Scalable Scientific Infrastructure: Contribute to the development of LCA models, templates, processes, and tools to make methodologies easier to use and more impactful.
