Job Description

Department: Technology & ProductLocation: Remote, CanadaDescriptionReporting to the Lead Scrum Master, the Scrum Master will work with on-site and offshore development teams, engineering management, product management and business leaders to successfully implement Agile/SCRUM framework and best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesGuide and coach assigned Scrum Team(s) and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver quality software that aligns with customer needs.Schedule and facilitate all Scrum team events for assigned teams, and ensure they are appropriately time boxed and the discussion is kept on topicAssess the Scrum maturity of the assigned team(s) and organization, and coach the team(s) to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team(s) and organizationSupport the assigned Scrum Team(s) by using a servant leadership style and leading by example. This person should personify Scrum and AgileGuide and coach assigned Scrum Team(s) on self-organization to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworksRemove impediments that cannot be resolved within the assigned team(s). This is usually done by identifying the appropriate personnel within the organization and actively working with them to address the issue(s)Support and coach the Product Owner(s) for assigned Scrum team(s), especially with respect to product backlog refinement and managementManage the assigned Scrum team(s) board & team space in our organization’s Agile/Scrum project management software (JIRA & Confluence)Track and compile metrics and reports providing transparency to the team, department, and organization, with the purpose of facilitating the process of inspection and adaptationFacilitate discussion, decision making, conflict resolution and getting the work doneSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseEducation level - Bachelor’s degree (B.A) preferableYears of Experience - 1-2 years in an Agile/Scrum environment preferableSpecific Skills:Must be comfortable with the following software:▪ Jira (JQL, metrics, etc.)▪ Confluence▪ MS ExcelProficient personal computer skills including e-mail, record keeping, word processing, spreadsheets, slides, etc.Experience with MS-Teams/Outlook CalendarCertificates & Licenses:CSM or PSM IOther Requirements:Ability to write routine reports and business correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of employees within the organizationUnderstanding of statistical measures such as mean, median, mode, percentiles, range, variance, and standard deviationStrong soft skills (communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, etc.)Benefits
