ROLE SUMMARY:Australian International School (AIS) Saigon, a renowned international, co-educational K-13 school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has been educating young men and women for more than 16 years.We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Korean Teacher to join our international learning community. The Secondary Korean Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective Korean language and literature instruction aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme frameworks. The teacher fosters students’ linguistic proficiency, cultural understanding, and appreciation of Korean heritage while developing critical thinking and communication skills in alignment with the AIS vision and mission.All teachers at AIS are expected to effectively develop and deliver the curriculum in line with the Inspired Education Group’s expectations and meet Inspired teaching standards. Teachers enjoy an excellent standard of living.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, deliver, and assess Korean language and literature lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme standards. Create a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes language proficiency, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities. Use a variety of teaching strategies, technology, and assessment tools to enhance learning outcomes. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student progress. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary learning, and school initiatives. Contribute to school events, co-curricular activities, and the wider learning communityCarrying out additional duties as required by the Secondary Principal, contributing to the broader school community and corporate life. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:Bachelor’s degree in Korean Language, Literature, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Valid registration or licensing in Korean Language teaching, with eligibility to work legally in Vietnam;Qualified teaching certificate/licensure appropriate for grade level and subject area. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Korean Language teaching and working with students. Experience in teaching IGCSE Cambridge and IB is desirableA positive, child-centred individual with excellent communication skills. Solid working knowledge of the concepts, activities, and techniques related to teaching Korean Language at the required level. Well-organised and proficient in school management systems. Patient, flexible, and innovative, with a clear comprehension of how students learn. Team player, diplomatic, proactive and problem-solver.
