THE POSITIONWe are hiring a Senior Accountant for Egypt. The position is based in Cairo and reports to the Head of F&A NEW Africa.As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with the accounting manager & the Head of F&A, by analyzing financial data and delivering actionable insights. This position provides a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of business operations, financial processes, and systems while contributing to the organization's growth. You will collaborate with a dynamic finance team, driving excellence and innovation in decision-making.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesManage Month & Year-End Closing: Ensure timely communication and adherence to corporate and internal timelines, proper cost allocation for WBS & CC, and preparation of monthly actual vs budget/forecast reports for departmentsManage Legal entity requirements: Not limited to preparation of Financial Statement, handling all Internal & External Audit requirements, Monthly review and analysis of BS and P&L accounts and ensure accuracyTax and Reporting Compliance: Submit accurate and timely local tax, social insurance requirements, and periodic company/business data reportsFinancial Auditing and Reconciliation: Substantiate transactions by auditing documents, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accounting controls through recommended policies and proceduresData Analysis and Reporting: Extract, evaluate, and analyze data from systems (SAP, Qlikview, AFO, etc.), ensuring accurate communication to relevant stakeholders and timely submission in appropriate systemsVendor and Payment Management: Educate vendors on company policies, monitor expenses and payments (IVT system), prepare bank payment formats, and ensure timely vendor payments in line with termsGBS Operations and SOP Support: Act as a key user for GBS operations locally, contribute to SOP creation, and support administrative tasks as neededCollaboration and Business Support: Participate in finance team review meetings, generate relevant analyses, and provide business insights to drive decision-makingRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in accountingMinimum 5-6 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, and Business Controlling, including systems, processes, and guidelines, specifically for Egypt. Audit background (assurance, tax, corporate finance) is a plusPrevious experience in Multi-national Pharma, FMCG, or Audit/Accounting is preferredExcellent knowledge of IFRS, hands-on experience with SAP, and with project management principlesStrong functional expertise, business acumen, process-oriented thinking, and advanced technical proficiency in systems and toolsExceptional analytical thinking to handle complex controlling, business, and finance topics; agile, flexible, and quick to adapt to changing environmentsTeam player with a collaborative mindset, able to influence and impact stakeholders effectively while working under pressureEnabling attitude combined with a challenging mindset to drive efficiency and effectiveness in interactions with Business PartnersBusiness proficiency in English languageWhat’s Next?We are looking forward to receiving your application!
